The "Duck" means two strands of cotton have been twisted together to make a stronger, harder to pull apart, single strand. Tilley use 10oz Cotton Duck, mercilessly pre-shrunk, and specially treated for water repellency and mildew resistance.

To find your right hat size.....
Measure round your head with a tape measure just above the eyebrows, and pull the tape fairly firmly.
The size of the Tilley hat will be the next size above that of the tape measure.
Remember these hats are not worn tight on the head.
